“Marijuana Grower’s Handbook: Your Complete Guide for Medical and Personal Marijuana Cultivation” by Ed Rosenthal
The Marijuana Grower’s Handbook shows beginners and advanced growers how to grow the biggest most resinous and potent buds! The book contains all of the latest knowledge, tools, and methods to grow great marijuana indoors or out. It shows you the most efficient technology to save time, labor, and energy.
The author, Ed Rosenthal, has been teaching people how to grow marijuana for over 30 years. With this great book, he will help you cultivate bountiful buds and lots of them. The book has 500 pages of full color photos and illustrations, and it delivers all the basics that a novice grower needs, as well as detailed scientific research for the more experienced gardener. All aspects of cultivation are covered, from the selection of varieties, setting up the garden, and through each stage of plant growth to harvesting. Stunning results are really possible with Ed’s growing tips.
This book has very detailed information on every aspect of growing cannabis. It is really easy to pick out a chapter, study it and then apply it to the garden. It is also good that the book spends time on outdoor gardens which is a vital part of gardening, but a lot of books don’t spend any time on it. There are many outdoor growers and it’s nice to know that Ed is there for them, too.
I have also reviewed Jorge Cervantes’ The Cannabis Encyclopedia (see the review here), and to be honest the information in that book is more detailed in terms of setting up a garden, understanding the needs of the plants, and even offers a section on genetics and breeding. Knowing how prominent Ed Rosenthal is as a grower, I was surprised to only find a basic two to three page section on the curing process that barely describes one of the most important processes in producing medical cannabis.
If you want fantastic information on growing marijuana, the Marijuana Grower’s Handbook is for you, but if you want more detail on things like curing maybe Jorge’s Marijuana Horticulture Medical Grow Bible would be a better choice.
About the Author
“Ed Rosenthal holds the distinction of turning more people on to pot than Cheech and Chong.” — Tommy Chong
“Mr. Rosenthal is the pothead’s answer to Ann Landers, Judge Judy, Martha Stewart and the Burpee Garden Wizard all in one.” –NY Times January 2003
“Marijuana may not be addictive, but growing it is.” — Ed Rosenthal
Ed is one of the world’s leading experts on the cultivation and growing of marijuana. His books have sold more than a million copies and this book has revolutionized the field. He is also on the faculty of Oaksterdam University, the leading trade school for the cannabis industry. Ed’s classes teach pupils how different techniques can be used to improve the yield and efficiency of their gardens.
Ed is driven by a desire to develop innovative, effective, and non-toxic methods of gardening. He was one of the original American writers to travel to Holland, and brig back the knowledge and sophistication of European horticulture to the U.S. through his books and Ask Ed column. While his career has focused on marijuana cultivation, he is also an avid gardener of edible plants and flowers as well. He believes that no matter the plant, a gardener should never be forced to resort to using potentially dangerous means in order to enjoy a great harvest.
Beyond the garden, Ed views marijuana law as a crucial social issue and has been active in promoting and developing policies of civil regulation. In 2003 he was tried in Federal Court for cultivation in a trial where the jury was not allowed to hear that he was deputized by the City of Oakland to provide marijuana for patients. His trial shifted public opinion in favor of state medical marijuana laws.
