Review of The Cannabis Encyclopedia by Jorge Cervantes

Back cover of The Cannabis Encyclopedia by Jorge Cervantes

This is probably the most complete, if not THE most complete, and detailed reference on Cannabis production there is. It covers everything from the basics of gardening to large growing facilities, diseases and problems, breeding and genetics, and pest control. Everything is covered in amazing detail, with beautiful photos and informative graphics.

The foreword is written by the former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, whose country endured the so called “War on Drugs”, and whose thoughts are especially interesting.

There is a brief discussion of the history of medical cannabis, and not much on legalization, which as the law on medical and recreational cannabis is changing so rapidly, is for the best.  We should point out that most of this book is on medical Cannabis, but the information will also be useful for anyone where personal or professional Cannabis growth is now legal.

It starts with an overview of the growing process – there are detailed chapters on everything from seed selection and germination, indoor and outdoor gardening, hydroponics, lighting, life cycle and flowering, harvesting, and post-harvest processing and preservation, as well as problem troubleshooting. The information is very well organized and presented, making it easy to look up and find what you need. The illustrations of nutrient deficiencies are fantastic – there are illustrations that show how each deficiency manifests throughout the plant; which is VERY helpful.

There is so much detail it’s hard to review it all. All we can say is that THIS is the book you want! It’s a large and heavy book (worth its weight on gold!) and has pretty much everything you could want to know about cannabis.

There is even a cannabis recipe section for cooking with cannabis……..
